Chai spices baked with tart juicy apples and oat crust makes the perfect simple fall dessert!
6 granny smith apples or any baking variety, peeled, cored and chopped
2 tbs sugar
2 tbs flour, cornstarch, gf flour
1tsp Chai Masala
For the Topping
2/3 c brown sugar
2/3 old fashion oats
1/3 c cold butter cut into cubes
1/3 c flour or gf flour
1 tsp Chai Masala
pinch of salt
Preheat oven to 375. Spray or butter a 9x13 baking dish and set aside.
Add apples to a large bowl and toss with sugar, flour and Chai Masala. Pour into the baking dish.
In the same bowl, add ingredients for topping. Mix and mash with a pastry cutter or your hands until it makes a crumbly paste. Spread the mixture over the top of the apples and bake for about 30-35min until golden brown and bubbly.
Let cool for about 10 min before serving.
