Masala Corn Subzi

Sweet corn cooked down with our savory flavorful Masala Paste for the perfect dish!


  • Oil of choice

  • 1 tbs cumin seeds

  • 1/2 onion

  • Corn on the cob (4)

  • Masala Paste

  • Salt and pepper

  • Chili pepper (if desired)

  • Lemon juice

  • 1 lime


  • Heat about 1tbs of neutral oil in a large pot and add about 1tbs of cumin seeds

  • Once the seeds start popping, chop 1/2 an onion and add, as well as kernels of 1 corn roughly chopped

  • Cook for about 5-7 minutes or until softened

  • Add in 3/4 jar of Masala Paste and continue cooking for about 7-8 minutes on medium low

  • Stir in 1 cup of water and add in pieces of 2-3 whole corn cobs (depending on size, cut into two pieces)

  • Add salt to taste and chili pepper powder if desired

  • Cover and continue cooking for about 10-15 minutes stirring occasionally

  • Finish with lemon juice and chopped lime
